The Silence In Losing Touch

The deadly silence, can’t you see,
Floating between you and me,
Threatens to tear us, break apart,
From this destiny we’ll depart?
One less hello, one less goodbye,
Is all it takes to pass us by.
Before we know it we’ve moved on
Trying to find where our hearts belong.
Little do we search and little do we know,
Into what stream all our time flows.
One more day and all our hope,
Away, perhaps on wings, float.
In this way, we will see,
If we’ll take our paths, separately.

Summers Snow

ChainsawPenguin

download
From whence comes the summer snow,
Where sunshine dwells and warm winds blow?
The deceiving light of day.
Dark clouds breaking clear the way.
A tantalizing reminder of winters past.
A cold relief that cannot last.
The snows of summer are now gone,
To a place where it, more enduring, belongs.
And I, wishing for things that cannot be,
Hold it in my heart, where it’s more than a memory.

Hello World

ChainsawPenguin

xxdownload90
Hello world. Here I am.
My first thought today was: Damn.
I was scared for you to see my face
I wanted to hide without a trace.
It had already begun: this day.
And curse you! Without my say!
I was not ready, I was unprepared.
I did not want you to give me a dare.
But here I sit now unafraid.
And while on my back I am laid,
I’ll wait, now ready.
Bring me your loathsome stream so steady,
And filled with the troubles of everyday life!
I’ll wait for you ready to fight.
No longer fearing night to give birth to the day,
If you’ll listen, you’ll hear me say:
“I will no longer hide, this is who I am.
Hello world. Here I am.”

Time Will Tell

ChainsawPenguin

Time will tell if he is only
Worth such trouble and dying slowly,
Already at the end of his rope,
Strength fading, but still, hope!
Everything that he was told,
These lies, to him that were sold.
“Wake up! Sleep no longer!”,
Forever silent cries,
“Listen fool, awaken stronger.”
Or on deaf ears fallen will he die?
We will see on the morrow,
Will he rise and cease to borrow
Or take that wisdom and then sell
It off?
Only time will tell.

Raindrops Muffle

ChainsawPenguin

Raindrops muffle, I cannot hear.
Through a window sound disappears.
There is something ominous about the way you hold your mouth open.
Shapes and shadows there behind you,
Why just stand there? Won’t you run too?
Or are you reveling in this dark night to which you’re beholden?
Lightning flashes, I see more clearly
The face behind the glass sincerely,
Malevolently wishes for me to join it in its well of misery.
There is no mouth to hold open,
But a stretched out hole, a token.
What should be eyes, now black holes that somehow enable you to see.
A small bit of fear I feel,
Fear, that would surely cause my mind to reel,
In some small way I feel safer watching you from within my home.
More Lightning flashes the face is no more,
Perhaps a memory from a dream before?
Suddenly I feel a hand on my…

Against Cold Tide

One more cold wind and all that it sustains:
Sad dreams, feigned smiles, but more so the latter.
Beneath the placid surface calm remains
Before the storm, all I have to catch her.
I cannot gain or get any closer.
She is a vapor, in essence a breath.
This race. I can’t say what it has cost her;
It’s sure to lead to her untimely death.
She is the fragile calm before the storm,
The lonely rock standing against cold tide.
What can I do with a sad maiden, torn?
Nothing but simply remain by her side.
Sad dreams? Not for long. Short lived are feigned smiles.
Through the light and dark I’ll stay all the while.
